| Bruce W. Lefkon, M.D. FACS
Dr.
Lefkon joined Associates in Urology in 1997 after 22 years of practice,
most of it, solo. After a Bachelor's degree at Columbia College,
he graduated from State University of New York, Downstate Medical
Center in 1969. He then began his surgical training in LosAngeles
and Manhattan and completed his residency in Urology back at Downstate/
Kings County in 1974. He initially joined a urology group in Atlanta,
Georgia, but returned to the New York area in 1975 and has been
practicing in Essex county ever since.
Dr.
Lefkon was one of only 2 urologists in the state cited in the inaugural "Doctors
Favorite MD's" issue of New Jersey magazine in April of 1992. Dr.
Lefkon was also the first urologist in northern New Jersey to be trained in the
"no scalpel" technique of vasectomy. His special interests within urology include
urologic oncology (including prostate, bladder and kidney cancer), BPH (prostatic
enlargement), and kidney stones. |
