Certified by the American Board of Urology, Dr. Strauss is a founding partner of Associates in Urology in 1989. He is an Attending Surgeon and former Director of the Section of Urology at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, an Attending Surgeon at the Stone Center of New Jersey and Columbus Hospital, both in Newark. He also is a Consultant to the Daughters of Israel Geriatric Center in West Orange. Previously he had been Chief of Urologic Services at Eglin AFB, Florida.

For the past two decades, he has been Assistant Clinical Professor of Urology in the Department of Surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

Dr. Strauss has lectured on the treatment of carcinoma of the prostate at the American Urological Association Annual Meeting and on urinary flow rates and bladder function at the American Society of Nuclear Medicine Annual meeting. He has also been published in the Journal of Nuclear Medicine and in Medical economics. He is a member of many national state, and county urological and medical groups. His most recent research deals with the use of lasers in prostatic disease. With an MD form the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Strauss completed his general surgery residency at Marquette University Affiliate Hospitals in Milwaukee, and his urology residency at Bronx Municipal Hospital Center and Albert Einstein College Hospital.
