Brent Yanke, MD, MPH graduated with Honors from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. from the College of Arts and Sciences majoring in neuroscience and art history.  He then earned a Masters in Public Health from Columbia University concentrating in environmental health sciences.  Subsequently, he was an AOA graduate with Distinction in Research from SUNY at Stony Brook School of Medicine.  This was followed by a six year residency in urology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center which included eight months of training at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.  He most recently has completed a prestigious fellowship in endourology, laparoscopy, and robotics under Dr. Demetrius Bagley at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. 

Dr. Yanke’s research interests have included urologic oncology, laparoscopy, robotics, and endourology. He has authored several publications in the areas of prostate cancer, renal cancer, and laparoscopy that have appeared in journals including the Journal of Urology, British Journal of Urology, Journal of Endourology, and Urology.  He also has completed book chapters entitled “Complications in Ureteroscopy” and “Ureteroscopic Endopyelotomy for the Treatment of Ureteropelvic Junction Obstruction” both of which are currently in press.  Ongoing research includes treatment of transitional cell carcinoma of the upper urinary tract as well as the evaluation and minimally invasive treatment of ureteropelvic junction obstruction.

Dr. Yanke is a member of the American Urological Association and the Endourologic Society.  He has presented abstracts at society meetings including the American Urologic Association annual conference and the World Congress of Endourology. 

Dr. Yanke specializes in the endoscopic treatment of kidney stones and urothelial tumors as well as the robotic and laparoscopic treatment of prostate cancer and kidney disease.
