Robotic Adrenalectomy
The adrenal glands are small triangular organs located above each kidney. They are responsible for making hormones including cortisol and sex steroids, and also adrenaline.
The
adrenal gland can develop benign or malignant tumors that will require the
removal of the affected organ. One adrenal gland is adequate for normal
function. If both glands are removed, the patient must take small doses
of steroids.
Robotic Adrenalectomy is an ideal treatment for the removal of the adrenal gland. It can be performed through the front (transperitoneal) or side (retroperitoneal) depending on your condition.
